Community Voices Shape Climate Resilience Plans in Southwest Bangladesh
People from different villages in Khulna and Satkhira districts came together this week for a series of community consultations organized by CDP, with support from local partners. The discussions focused on the impacts of recurring floods, cyclones and salinity intrusion, and how communities can better prepare and adapt.
"We know our land, our water and our challenges," said a community representative from Satkhira. "When we are part of the planning process, the solutions are more practical and last longer."
The consultations are part of CDP's ongoing work to strengthen climate governance at the local level. The inputs from these sessions will feed into district-level resilience plans and inform coordination with local government agencies and development partners.
CDP believes that meaningful climate action must be people-centered. By amplifying community voices and integrating local knowledge with technical expertise, the organization helps ensure that resilience plans are inclusive, practical and aligned with the needs of the most vulnerable.
